10 August (Homer, AK)

10 August – Arrived to this view at our campsite in Homer, AK (Baycrest RV Park). The Fireweed (purple flower) is everywhere here. This is the land of volcanoes. It was so nice out that we decided to have our lunch outside. Roxy found her new favorite rock (see it in her mouth) and was ready to play. She is so much of our entertainment.
We went down to Homer Spit where we saw silver salmon jumping out of the water and seals (eating salmon) and a bald eagle, all of which we were unable to capture in a picture.
Tomorrow, we plan to go to Anchor Point, which is the western most part of the North American continent that can be reached by a continuous highway (or as we like to say: the “end of the earth”). πŸ™‚
